All last week sunny and warm tonight it's cold like a February day It's time you sent some of that warm and sunny weather over here spider. It was cold all last week and today's no different. Rain for this afternoon to add to the misery.

You must have nearly had a heart attack seeing Penny outside on the bedroom windowsill tonib. Years ago I had a cat called Kimberley (this was when my cats used to go out) and she hadn't come in for the night. During the night there was a thunderstorm and I heard a funny noise outside the landing window. There was Kimberley trying to climb in through the landing window and it's one of the top opening windows. To get on the landing windowsill outside she would have had to climb onto the shed room and then jump up to the landing windowsill from there - it would have been a heck of a jump and if she had fallen it would have been onto the steps below and not back on the shed. I love all the other posts, so funny.

Checked the support page there were issues with a number of forums but luckily not the support one. I always check another website (non-proboards) to see if its having problem to eliminate my laptop & that was OK so looked on proboards Mind you I was cursing as I was posting a long message on the forum, then managed to close the tab without sending it. You can be grateful for that at least! When I did it again today I found a better way of doing it

Marks post made me chuckle π₯° scallywag this historic post on the forum explains Mark's post! Penny's latest trick was to come through the banister rails from the stairs & stand on the top of the door from the kitchen into the hall, which opened against the stair wall. She had only started doing it this last few months, we've worked out that when we had the kitchen revamped last August we had the hob moved across the kitchen so it was now visible from the stairs & we think she liked the birds-eye view of our (& hopefully her) dinner being cooked as well as giving us heart failure as the door easily moved. Mark could reach her down but I could only hold the door steady & encourage her to go back through the railings to the stairs. We had the kitchen redone in 2015 so Penny was then 16, arthritic & had all her illnesses (kidney disease, hyperthyroidism, HCM) which also contributed to her weight loss. She certainly knew how to give us heart failure, as we watched her wobble a bit as she got on or off the door which could move She was famed for her highwire act see post in 2013 (and again in 2014, 2017 entered in comps in 2017 & 2020!!!), although the incident & photo were from 2009 when Penny was 10 & we'd had her about 16 months. Besides the falling down from the window the idea of them getting stuck in some was horrendous. Hope that Ragdoll vonnie , recovers well. It's daft I know but we always make sure that we don't open windows upstairs wide enough to let a cat through, which means that we don't get as much fresh air in the bedroom overnight as we'd like in this hot weather. We learnt our lesson as despite having a catflap which they used 2 of our cats on separate occasions went out of one of the back bedroom windows. Penny, at least, only went on to the sill & then went back in the window. I was taking photos in the garden at the time so have the photo to prove her escapade. I first saw her looking out the window Penny looking out the window PICT0307_20090630 by osiriscat, on Flickr Continued taking photos of the garden & then turned round & saw this Penny out of the window PICT0314_20090630 by osiriscat, on Flickr However when Roman tried it, on another occasion, he decided to jump down on to the conservatory roof, which wasn't too much of a drop but of course he couldn't get a grip on the slippery roof. It was the jump down that drew our attention as we were outside. He kept trying to get back up but was just sliding down. We were in panic stations mode as there were pots on the patio against the conservatory & if he came down on them it would not be a good landing & they were also stopping us getting ready to catch him. Eventually he reached the guttering & that gave him the grip to push back up & he made it to the top & jumped back into the window. At which point we breathed again. One of the reasons we finally got the mesh nets for these style of opening windows in 2018 from www.flatcats.co.uk so that we could finally open the windows safely to air/cool the rooms as after those escapades we could only open them a very small amount just enough for a bit of air but not enough for a small cat to get out!!!!
