sisFinally got some updated pics of our two new girls Ready at the end of the month which is Tuesday 31st July by MY reckoning.....next week! I imagine there'll be much hissing and fluffed up fur but I'm sure they'll soon get used to each other No names as yet.....need to meet them and get to know them first I think
Sister #2 (just look at that determined face.....hope this young lady isn't going to be a bossy 'un! Poor Monty otherwise!!! )
Was speaking to Wendy last night and......ginger is a BOY!!!!! Yaaayyyy I've now got THREE ginger boys in my life (Neil is a redhead too ).
Went to pick the two newbies up today and got them home, they had a feed and fell asleep after a while. When they woke up again the B+W managed to get a claw stuck in a feather & bell toy hanging from the roof of the crate So I quickly opened the doort and held her and undid the claw. Decided to have a quick check under the tail *as you do* and guess what? She is a BOY too!!!!! Sooo......I've got THREE boy kittens and Neil I'm soooo happy cos I really wanted boy cats It'll certainly cut out any worries about young girls coming into season at, what, 5 months and seducing Monty Wonder if the vet will give me discount for three pompomectomies at once?
2 gingers boys! What have you let yourself in for? Aww, they are all lovely kittens. The new kittens look like boys and so much easier for you that they are all boys. Monty looks intrigued. Now the fun begins.
Fun doesn't even BEGIN to cover it When the two newbies were asleep I opened the crate door and Monty walked in and lay in front of them....fascinated as you say By the end of the evening the crate door was permanently open and two newbies had been out exploring and all three were having a high old time playing and pouncing on each other. I dismantled the crate before I went to bed as it didn't look like there'd be any aggression at all. I fell asleep to the wonderful sound of charging feet and the occasional yowl of someone getting jumped on
Woke up at 6am - silence! Monty was fast asleep in his usual spot on the windowsill and the two new boys were asleep on the cat tree. I gave them their breakfast - I've sussed out the two new boys need to be fed with their plates well apart because Little Ginger growls if anyone comes near his food.....makes me think the woman who bred them just put down one or two plates for all TEN of her cats and left them to it. Poor kittens have probably never had a proper meal without having to fight for it! At least now they'll not want for anything....and Wendy is going to report her too
I even managed to stroke the two new boys whilst they slept on the tree....little ginger started purring...a very loud rusty purr And even continued when he opened his eyes, saw me and I kept gently stroking him His brother was slightly more wary but, again, let me stroke him for a few seconds. I stopped before either got skittish so they hopefully associate me with nice things....it's all little steps
Can you see them all?
Only three weeks' difference in age!!!
How could anyone resist these faces and NOT want to cuddle them?
They are so gorgeous. Are the new kittens really small or is Monty a whopper? What a difference in their sizes. I'm glad they have settled down together, that's great news. They will soon get used to their own dishes for food and lots of loving attention from you. Any ideas for names yet? What does Neil think of them?
Size-wise I think it's a combination of Monty being very fluffy so appearing bigger than he actually is and the ginger boy being very small.....feisty as anything but very small. I'm sure he'll catch up once he's on a proper REGULAR feeding regime too. The b+w is almost Monty's size but looks smaller because of his smooth coat and longer legs (beginning to think they must have different fathers as the build is so different between the two brothers).
Monty and 'Panda' are having some right rough & tumble games this afternoon I think my wee man is really happy to have brothers to play with
As to names? Nothing yet.....Neil is adamant he's picking their names and I have to keep batting away silly suggestions!
Playing with the close up setting on my camera They're already used to me putting this 'thing' in front of them and making it click I think Monty probably told them it's quicker to just sit still and humour me then I go away
