Some of you may remember me on the lookout for a male companion for my female Beardie, Brian. She was unwell when younger and as a result is nearly half the size she should be...
Well we had this little male at work, gangly little thing that was unwell when he was younger which also stumped his growth. He was housed with a female from the same clutch who was quite a bit bigger than him and she played the dominant one. She ended up going to a new home leaving the male by himself. I decided he'd be a perfect companion for Brian. He was only slightly bigger, only a few months younger, submissive and had always lived with another female dragon.
I ended up buying him and bringing him home. I'd planned on keeping them in separate vivs for the first 4 days and slowly introducing them but it turns out it was love at first sight and they have since been inseparable!
First meeting: (Brian left, Sally right)
Warming in the viv together (Brian left, Sally right)
Brian absolutely LOVES him and never leaves him alone lol:
Sleeping last night:
In case you're wondering about the names, Brian was named before we were able to sex her and boy did we guess wrong but she answers to her name so we never changed it. With the new male, well... may as well do it completely the wrong way round hey
DRAGON UPDATE: Still getting on swell and cuddling up to each other each night. Brian constantly sits on Sallys back. She's been a bit of a flirt the last couple days. Trying to get his attention by climbing all over him, bobbing her head and she even bit him on the back of his neck the other day. He meanwhile, isn't phased at all and ignores it all.
Brians behaviour is suggesting that she wants to mate. Dear me.
caz2golden: Back to being drowned rat at work! Now home and warming up.

Oct 16, 2017 20:22:50 GMT
caz2golden: There are reports of trees down, road near Newgale shut cos of storm bank pebbles across road, sea flooding from tidal surge/high tide combined at Dale, some people have no electricity. Council and energy suppliers will be having a busy night
Oct 16, 2017 20:24:31 GMT
caz2golden: Going to work could be interesting tomorrow as there is reports of tree across road I drive and being a non major road I am guessing it will not be a priority to clear, however the partial blockage on main road I am sure will be.
Oct 16, 2017 20:28:52 GMT
caz2golden: Is a also a bit disconcerting when you know you drove a road earlier in day that now has a tree down across it! (had to go to bank but went before storm hit)
