Tell Millie all about it, dogs are understanding and she will make you feel better. You can't win with your grandparents. You go out and enjoy yourself and don't feel guilty - after all, they suggested it.
Here Here and also you do need some ME time or you will crack up Imogen xxx
Oh and you have every right to see your DAD too xx
Yesterday evening I was watching tv and then took Willow around the garden on her harness. When I came back in, hubbby had come in the room and switched the tv off. I couldn't find the remote to switch it back on and when I asked him, he came in the room to look for it. There was 3 of us looking on the floor, the shelves, under the throws, in the kitchen (?) and anywhere else daft for at least 5 minutes! Then my daughter noticed that Kai Ruki was asleep on the arm of the armchair and wondered if he had lay down on it - yes, there it was!!!!!
Early evening, we had a bulb go in the downstairs toilet which tripped the lights RCD (it was still light then so didn't realise straight away. Easily fixed but when the casing was removed from the light (the bathroom style glass bowl round the bulb) we were surprised to find a spider's web containing a number of desiccated large spiders Yuck!
Later we were just getting ready to do the cats supper when all of a sudden the power went off. Checked no problem with our RCD & the meter had no information visible (its a smart meter) so seemed to be a problem with the supply to us although other houses around had lights (odd). Difficult to tell about all of them as it was late & a number of them would be asleep & lights out. The street light on the edge of our property was also on. Reported the power cut via my mobile & it seems we were the first but as we were talking to the operator a report from a nearby road came through that they'd got some street lights out. So got text updates & eventually we got power back around 1:10 am. so had to go round the house turning out the lights, TV etc & reset the alarm clock. The engineers had gone to the sub-station (according to text we got at 0:42 & must have reset their equivalent of an RCD as our neighbour who'd had power woke around 4 a.m. to discover their clocks flashing & needing reset so I suspect that all the power (apparently there are 3 different cables feeding our area hence why only some properties & street lights).

caz2golden: Sorry not on much my PC is sending me around the bend every time I use mouse it double clicks when I only single clicked! Part of me is hoping it is a windows issue that will get updated rather than just PC getting old and broken!

alfiemummy: It's most likely your mouse that needs replacing Caz - that's happened to me twice now and both times it's been fixed by getting a new mouse

tonib: Sounds like it was a good job we didn't have Roman as a kitten then. He's never misbehaved like that, only his first Xmas with us when he half-inched the stuffing! - I hope that's not famous last words!

tonib: Lexie is another matter but usually not breakables - except potentially of herself when she fell behind the large display cabinet/sideboard on being left alone for the 1st time in our dining room aged 2.5 years!!!

tonib: She jumped on top (via the table I believe) & managed to fall between it & the wall & appeared to be suspended by her head part way down (the gap narrowed!) I had to get a burly neighbour in to help move it, quickly moving weight/breakables as pos. 1st

tonib: She was fine but got checked by vet just in case! That was a heart stopping time, especially her cries!
