scallywag , I knew we would convert you to a cat lover!
There's no cure, y'know
As to my wee man's first night.....I think he was still tired out from his Big Adventure and I didn't hear a peep from him all night I slept in the living room to keep him company but he settled down on the cushion on my chair and was still there when I woke at 4.15am! He wasn't too keen on his kitten food (Felix) and I could only persuade him to tuck in by putting it on my fingers for him to lick off Neil has informed me that he HAS been eating from his plate by himself though.
NOW we just need him to use the litter tray as we've had nary a pee or a poop from him! He's had some food when I got home and is now tearing around like a ginger whirlwind
We've had a couple of teeny tiny pee accidents right next to the living room door but yesterday evening, whilst I was watching Gardener's World, I heard scratching and he was IN the tray having a poop I gave him loads of praise and left it in the tray, covered up, overnight so he would get the idea and *hurrah* he's had a pee overnight
I was SO tired yesterday and was in bed by 8pm and, so as not to wake me, Neil crashed out on the day bed in the living room. I got up this morning at 4.25am to find BOTH my ginger boys snuggled up asleep on it Monty is definitely a bit more bold and confident this morning and is tearing around and swinging on blankets and his tree like a ginger ninja I think he's definitely starting to settle and has realised we're harmless idiots
I'll get them as soon as the little ninja slows down!
I don't think I have EVER known such a confident & happy kitten at just 8 weeks of age!!! His tail is ALWAYS straight up in the air and nothing fazes him Even Loki, confident though he was, was always next to his Mum for support in the early days.....yet Monty just trots around as if he owns the place! I've noticed today ~ his 2nd day home with us ~ he's a LOT more outgoing and snuggly and he slept on the bed next to his dad (Neil) last night. He's sussed out the litter tray too (didn't do even a tiny pee for the first 24hrs!!!) and everything's 100% in that department too. He's just spent the past 20 minutes tearing around like a bat out of hell from the living room to the kitchen to the bedroom with his ears flat and tail up and peeking out from under the coffee table or from inside his tunnel when I say ''Now where's that naughty kitten got to?'' He'll wait till I walk past then tap my foot with a teensy white paw to make me *over-dramatically* squeal Yet just as suddenly he'll conk out and fall asleep!
Went to the rescue today taking some newspapers (for the cats) & old towels (for the dogs!). Of course we had to look round the cattery residents & I'd seen this one already on the website but she is gorgeous & friendly in real life.

caz2golden: Sorry not on much my PC is sending me around the bend every time I use mouse it double clicks when I only single clicked! Part of me is hoping it is a windows issue that will get updated rather than just PC getting old and broken!

alfiemummy: It's most likely your mouse that needs replacing Caz - that's happened to me twice now and both times it's been fixed by getting a new mouse

tonib: Sounds like it was a good job we didn't have Roman as a kitten then. He's never misbehaved like that, only his first Xmas with us when he half-inched the stuffing! - I hope that's not famous last words!

tonib: Lexie is another matter but usually not breakables - except potentially of herself when she fell behind the large display cabinet/sideboard on being left alone for the 1st time in our dining room aged 2.5 years!!!

tonib: She jumped on top (via the table I believe) & managed to fall between it & the wall & appeared to be suspended by her head part way down (the gap narrowed!) I had to get a burly neighbour in to help move it, quickly moving weight/breakables as pos. 1st

tonib: She was fine but got checked by vet just in case! That was a heart stopping time, especially her cries!

lotsofcats: I can remember when that happened with Lexi.
