This is Frank a one year old mastiff cross. He was abandoned at Hayes Farm Boarding Kennels in Nottingham and has been there now for just over two months. Frank now really needs a new home where he can be socialised, trained and given plenty of exercise as he is quite boisterous and can be difficult to walk. Frank is very strong on the lead and will require training for this. He does know some commands such as sit and paw and he loves to play with his ball and be brushed. He likes his food and does respond well to treats. Frank has not been tested with other dogs or children but he can be reactive to some of the other dogs around him in the other kennels. He is very loving and likes lots of attention and he will need a lot of room in his new home. He has been in the kennels for too long now and really needs someone who can spend enough time with him exercising and training him. If anyone would like any more information on Frank or would like to come and see him then please let me know.
Have you contacted the Dogue De Bordeaux and Neapolitan Mastiff breed club things? They can be fantastic for getting dogs rehomed, and the people in those are more likely to have experience with mastiff breeds and be able to really help Frank through his training and things and make him into the wonderful dog I'm sure he is.
Who is it on here with the lovely Dogue De Bordeaux cross? I've forgotten his username sorry, but on his FB page for his dog, he posts about Dogue De Bordeaux's needing rehomed and might be able to give you some advice on who to contact. Anyone know who I'm talking about? I can picture the profile picture but can't remember the username, argh!
cumbria ! Know of any groups etc who rehome Dogue De Bordeaux's specifically? With a breed like this I do think it's better that they try to go through specialist groups for rehoming rather than just appealing to the general public. Especially, as in this case, it seems as though a Frank has a few (fixable in the right hands I hope) behavioural problems.
Thanks everyone for your help, still no luck finding him a home. We did contact a neopolitan rescue a few weeks back but they wouldn't take him because he is a cross. Every other rescue we have tried has a twelve week waiting list.

tonib: Sounds like it was a good job we didn't have Roman as a kitten then. He's never misbehaved like that, only his first Xmas with us when he half-inched the stuffing! - I hope that's not famous last words!

tonib: Lexie is another matter but usually not breakables - except potentially of herself when she fell behind the large display cabinet/sideboard on being left alone for the 1st time in our dining room aged 2.5 years!!!

tonib: She jumped on top (via the table I believe) & managed to fall between it & the wall & appeared to be suspended by her head part way down (the gap narrowed!) I had to get a burly neighbour in to help move it, quickly moving weight/breakables as pos. 1st

tonib: She was fine but got checked by vet just in case! That was a heart stopping time, especially her cries!
