Oh Toni, I was not expecting to read that. So, so sad for you. R.I.P. beautiful Lexie run free with Osiris, Roman, Penny and the others. I'm glad you got to cuddle her in bed before she went, she will have felt loved and cherished. Thinking of you.

Well Kobi and Aztec have been with me 6 months , Bramble was a FREE replacement due to the awful dark Navy which I had to try and replace to a more realistic colour and Freddie is My Sisters Cockerpoo ,.
Freddie and Bramble are challenging due to the double painting of the light colours and Aztec and Kobi keep me sane, I mover around the table
As I have said many times no one has to accept their painting , I do it to keep me Sane , without my painting and the forum I think life would be very challenging for me re O.H

There are some ifs & buts, the main one being would getting her to a vet out of hours Sunday morning have made any difference or did she hurt herself on the stairs on Monday morning? I'll never know but I think she knew she was loved just so sad she was on her own at the end.
I still wonder if the 2 boys, Stevie in particular, knew something was wrong as they kept sniffing her rear end these last few months which, along with the raised paws from Stevie, was not normal previously.

They are all going to be lovely. I am so spoilt having another Bramble and also my favourite pic of Kobi and Aztec, I can't wait to see them developing.

Rainbow Bridge now has another angel, Lexie sadly joined our other pets rather unexpectedly this morning after giving us 12 years 3 weeks & 6 days of her (approximate) 14.5 years.
Around 4:30 a.m. Sunday morning I'd just given the cats their late night supper & she was now sitting at the top of the stairs as I carried up my glass of water to go to bed, when she fell over sideways & and was rolling around out of control for about 15 seconds before stopping & rushing to hide. Her pupils were also very large. It was caught on a security camera I'd installed to see if the cats were arguing outside of feeding time so was able to forward that to the out of hours Vidivet service who responded with their thoughts (like mine) was that she'd had a seizure. Too keep her safe, calm & monitor the situation & check if her pupils contracted when a light shone in her eyes (they did). If she has more then get to a vet.
She was fine overnight, jumping on to work surfaces during the day etc. But last night I was late again with the food, this time 4a.m. When I got back upstairs Lexie was sort of hiding in the bedroom & then went to the landing, so I wondered if there had been another incident & while I was checking the security camera I heard a noise & found Lexie sprawled on a stair halfway down. She then went down the rest of the stairs a bit unsteadily & hid. Again her pupils were large. I don't know if she fell down/on the stairs or not but she didn't seem hurt. So I carried her back up to my bed where she remained cuddled up to me until I woke to ring the vet at 8:30 for an appointment.
The appointment was for 10:30 a.m. & the lovely vet we saw thought the same, that she'd had some form of seizure. She recommended doing blood tests & checking blood pressure & if they didn't reveal any cause then a referral for a head scan was next. So I left Lexie with the vets for bloods & BP at about 10:50. At 11:43 I got a phone call from an upset vet to say that they'd just gone to Lexie's pen after only seeing her a few minutes earlier & found her, vey unexpectedly, dead. They think she'd had a stroke & that the previous seizures were actually strokes.
I went back to the vets to say my farewells & she looked very peaceful, at least it was quick.
The staff were very good & did offer an autopsy but I declined, so now I await her ashes & pawprint
RIP Lexie well & young again at Rainbow Bridge with Chloe, Roman, Osiris & other forum friends

Happy St Patrick's Day for yesterday spider. I expect you are still celebrating Ireland's brilliant win with the rugby. I won't mention Wales.
