JD was the first reptile to join our family back in 2004, she's the one that ignited my passion for reptiles. She was adored by all of us and was more often than not sleeping, coiled up down someones sleeve. She was an extremely friendly individual, I always called her 'the adventurer' because she'd always try and find ways to escape and explore (not one of her best ideas with having cats around). She fundamentally changed me, made me passionate about a subject I didn't now I was interested in, influenced my choice to go university so she was never just a 'pet snake', she was a guiding force in my life.
A young JD and Benny
Checking in the cup for more dinner
Sitting in her log
Inviting herself out
Checking out the camera
Years later she still checks the cup for seconds... or thirds
I got some flowers at work last night from a colleague which was nice of them and lots of words of support, especially surprising as I didn't directly mention about JD to anyone (only broadly on Facebook) and have social anxiety so tend to keep to myself at work. Got a headache focusing so much on not crying all day and now I've got to do it again today for 8 hours.
This is probably the best video I have of JD, I made it to show someone the new build interior I did for JD, I miss seeing her enthusiasm and positivity
