Tosha was at the vet's yesterday for her yearly vaccination. I said that the bald spot for which she was treated a year ago was back again. The vet said it is hay fever and Tosha washes the spot more frequently because it is itching. The small wounds didn't bother the vet. Besides a treatment couldn't be combined with the vaccination. Itching is the main symptom. Have any of your cats have hay fever too?
Hay fever! I didn't think that cats and dogs could get hay fever. Perhaps the vet can give Tosha an injection to stop her scratching, but after a certain time after her vaccination. My 2 Maine Coon used to get very itchy and the vet used to give them an injection which stopped it straight away.
Lovely to see you back on the forum Elly; I hope that you are getting better, slowly but surely.
Hope Tosha can have her injection to relieve the itching soon.
Yes last weekend I was told my Bella had allergies too which we've put down to hayfever due to the time of year but with conjunctivitis on top but her symptoms were different to Tosha she was sneezing with a very runny nose, the vet gave me some eye drops and bisolvon powder which went in her food for her nose and she's much better now no more conjunctivitis or runny nose, she's due her annual jabs next month and we're revisiting the allergies / hayfever thing then, it seems to be an annual thing, hope Tosha feeling better soon xx
Oh I didn't know that dutchkitties I'm not aware of any birch in the area but we do have a woods at the back of the house and Bella has got to know her surroundings very well so wouldn't surprise me if she'd found some 🤔 having said that they said at the rescue centre when she was there this time last year she had the snuffles x
