Yesterday the water in my garden was 35 cm above the path, but my Tommie escaped (workmen) and landed outside the pen. He saw the water and tried with his paw if he could reach the bottom. No way. Then I saw him splashing in the water and he SWAM to a higher spot in the neighbour's garden. No,he is not a Turkish Van, just a crazy housecat. Windforce 10 and lots of rain. He came back after 3 hours, half his size.
Oh crikey, what a worry for you dutchkitties & it must have been a real fright for Tommie, who says cats don't like water? A lot of cats would have avoided the water & hence come home a lot quicker. Sounds like he won't need a bath for a long time but I bet he would appreciate a nice warm towel after his soaking & won't try an escape again.
Happy days with Roman, Osiris & Lexie (remembering Chloe & Penny)
He swam 12 metres. The garden next door is 50 cm higher than mine. Yes, he had to swim back. When he was dry by endlessly washing himself he wanted to go out again. Not allowed as you can imagine. I wasn't really worried. He swam like an prof. Olympic champion.
